Lararia - Salmon Pink
Lararia is a synthesis of various previous projects which all featured a sequence of discs forming a complete structure. Lararia’s driving principle is that the direct light from the bulb should never be seen. However, this does not mean that the light source should be enveloped and covered; rather, that as much negative space as possible is used for light to escape - only covering the direct line of sight where necessary. Thus creating a supporting structure and a visual game where this principle becomes a surprising revelation.
Lararia’s production leans heavily into digital fabrication, being made from laser-cut acrylic and 3D-Printed PLA. Lararia’s assembly is made entirely with screws and nuts, making eventual repair accessible and removing the need for adhesives.
